We enjoyed our vaction and the condo and would return. Great location and views! Well equipped. There are no extra blankets and when we called Prince Properties to get these, our call was never returned. The rug and sofa in living area is very dirty. The flashlights need batteries. Just a couple of complaints, nothing that would ruin a vacation. I'm sure a good cleaning in the living room is all it needs.
Pros - Clean, looks nicely done up. Location is opposite the golf course with a view of the ocean about 500-700 yards away. 5 min walk to the pool. 10 min drive to the best sandy, boogy boarding Hapuna Beach. Close to Kings and Queens plaza which has a grocery store and restaurants. Kids could play outside while adults hung out on the lanai. Cons - the condo is very crowded with furniture etc. Not open and airy but dark and dingy. Windows are small so not too much light comes in during the day. This could an issue with most condos on the ground floor. No direct access to the beach. Pool is somewhat small ( no slides etc ) and good for kids upto 6 years or so.
Beautiful location. Bathroom fan noisey, broken. Barbecue was cooking for one,didn't know they made them that small.
The apartment was great and we enjopyed being there, the manager was very professional and easy to deal with and it worked for us. No hesitation in recommending it to others
First time for our family of four to the Big Island but by no means the first time traveling for us and our kids, ages 7 and 10. We like adventure but also a certain level of comfort and amenities -- whose kids don't like a great pool after all? Unit 9H is ground floor, corner unit with windows on two sides and a walkout lanai that faces the golf course, but far enough removed to not feel like the golfers are 'playing through' at 7am. The ocean's about 300-400 yards off, but visible and same for the large Hilton hotel that's on the other side of the course -- it's low enough and distant enough that while visible, the close palm trees are taller. The Waikoloa area is a huge resort complex, but the Hali'i Kai property is at the far end, away from the shops and the two huge hotels. We were worried we'd feel like we were in any old suburb, but we didn't and in fact enjoyed the fact that the grocery store (exepnsive! but cheaper than dining out), dive shop for snorkel rental, and several restaurants were a five minute drive away. All-in-all, when you're at the unit you definitely feel like you're in Hawaii without feeling like you're at a mega resort. The pool area is a 100 yard walk across grass from the unit, sits on a point overlooking the ocean (many of the chairs face out to watch the whales) and is very nicely landscaped with strategic chair placement which helps give privacy to separate groups of readers/sunbathers. The pool is black bottom, curving, landscaped, shallow (4' max) and includes a small (2-3') waterfall. Great for playing and cooling off but definitely not a lap pool. Kids had a blast, we would get in and splash a few minutes then get out. There's an attached but distinct little kid pool (1-2' deep) and an adjacent spa/hot tub with a gravel bottom that easily seats 12-15. The pool area is completed by a BBQ area (NICE large Viking grill) open to any Hali'i Kai resident, an open-air bar, and a decent poolside restaurant (10-12 tables) that
My name is Michael Stewart and I stayed at this property with 5 other family members. Location was excellent. Views were spectacular. Rate per night was fine. The ocean club was marginal. Pool was not big or deep. the air conditioner did not work for the last 2 days which made the unit hot and uncomfortable. The towels had a funky smell so we had to wash every one of the before we could use them. The $41.67 at check in makes no sense. For the money I paid and the location I would have expected a better quality product.
We loved the place very much. The 9H was very clean and all equipments were well-furnished. Also it has a great ocean view from the lanai. Our kids could easily go out into its front lawn and the swimming pool. We had a little happening caused by a kid but the caretaker kindly helped us and Prince Property recovered the problem quickly which we really appreciated. We had a wonderful time at there and we definitely come back again.
Every thing was great, except that I was not informed by the agency about the additional $30.00 checking fee that got collected at the resort.
Next door to the Hilton, gorgeous property with great amenities, walk to the Hilton if you want massive pools.
This unit was so good looking, my husband's first comment was "man, this place is nicer than our house!" It's true, the digs were upscale, spacious and fully-equipped! We brought our 2 babes (both under 2) and we all enjoyed the layout ("kid's rooms" on opposite side of unit). The lanai opens up to a great patch of grass and the master bed and bath are luxe (albeit, the shower in the master needed a serious de-mildew treatment). We rented all of the kid's stuff from a local place and they had it delivered before we arrived....super convenient! Annamarie was also a great help in getting us set-up at the condo, although there was a bit of a mis-hap with the lockbox code, which left us locked out of the unit for a good 45 minutes, late at night with 2 crying babes. Be sure to double-check the code you get!
Beautiful condo, very spacious, gorgeous view out the patio, pool area very relaxing where we saw whales every day. Our only complaint is all the dirty dishes we found in the cupboards and in the dishwasher. I had to wash everything before we used them. Someone also needs to put new batteries in the tv remotes. Thanks for sharing this place with us.

We recently enjoyed one week at Hali'i Kai. It is a wonderful complex with comfortable condos and a fantastic pool/common area. We will return.
